From negative to positive.
"Remember negative coping is more about denial and avoiding the reality of our situation. Taking a more positive approach means looking for the opportunity, a solution and the ways to nurture ourselves despite the challenges we face", Dave Algeo, Stressed Guru
Now, this is a quote from me. It's a recognition that often, our negative coping structures, when we struggle and start to adopt negative coping strategies, it's because we start to believe that we are powerless, that we can't do anything, that we don't have the skills or the knowledge or the confidence to do. And actually, positive coping comes from stopping that focus on what we can't do and shifting it to what we can do, even if it's the smallest of things. What's the smallest step or action we can take to give ourself a sense of control and to take some positive movement towards? That's positive coping.
