The Man Sprouts Man-ifesto

The Man Sprouts podcast Episode Four - men and emotions

Welcome to episode 4 of the man sprouts podcast.

In this episode I run through each element of the MAN SPROUTS MAN-IFESTO and encourage you to reflect on the importance of speaking up about our emotional and psychological wellbeing as men.

It is vital that we shift our perspective and attitudes surrounding mental health and more specifically, male mental health.  Men can feel so much pressure to conform to stereotypical norms and i is hard to break free from them at the best of times, so when we are really struggling with our mental health it can be an even bigger challenge.

In today's episode i lay out the basis for my Man Sprouts Man-ifesto - a statement of how we need to start approaching men's mental health and supporting each other.

As a word of advice for any one experiencing their own sense of desperation, loss or crisis, please, don't endure it alone.  Seek help.  From family, trusted friends and professionals.  Your own Doctor or GP is a great place to start.  Or there are great services provided by organisations such as the Samaritans.  For further advice on professional support and advice check out the NHS resources.

This podcast series is intended to encourage reflection on your own wellbeing and mental health.  It seeks to encourage you to speak up and get help where needed and take hope that you things can be better.  It is not intended as therapy or a replacement for professional help and advice.
